What We Can Do

As students, our options are open. This is our generations problem and our generation can find the solutions.

The general consensus seems to be, we are looking for ways our lives make a difference and our faith can be lived out in tangible ways.

What could we do? Here are some ideas.

  • We could carry a water purifier small enough to fit in a suitcase, needing only a hand full of salt and a 12 volt battery to provide clean water for 10,000 people a day. You don’t have to be an engineer.
  • Over 1 million hand pumps are in need of simple repair in Africa alone. This can be learned in a few hours and you don’t have to be a mechanic.
  • Health education is the most powerful tool to use along with providing clean water. You don’t have to be a doctor to teach that.
  • Virtually every integrated water tool from well drilling, water filtration, water testing and surveying the use of water in a community can be learned by ordinary people.

We can even get a group of our friends and fellow students to go.
